Days and Months..

Here's how TMDs call the Days of the week...

SOMVAAR   ............   SUNDAY
MANGALVAAR. ....    TUESDAY
BUDHVAAR     .......    WEDNESDAY
GURUVAAR  .............  THURSDAY
SHUKRAVAAR ........   FRIDAY
SHANIVAAR .............  SATURDAY
AITHVAAR     ............  SUNDAY

Months in the Marathi(TMD) calendar are....

Please note our calendar begins from Gudicha Phadwa which comes around March....
Always in the Marathi calendar, the new month begins on the PHADWA after AMAVASYA.
Each Month is known for certain festivities, which I have listed next to the month.

CHAITRA MAAS.......... Gudi Phadwa, Chaitra Gauri from Gauri teej, Chaitra Navaratri , Ram Navami and Hanumath Jayanthi

VAISHAAK MAAS......   . Akshaya Thrithiya and Narasimha Jayanthi

JYESHTA MAAS .....         Vata Savitri Purnima

AASHAAD MAAS .....       Chaaturmaas Vrat begins

SHRAAVAN MAAS ....      Thaanvicha Amavasya, Mangala Gowri Puja, Naga Chaturthi, Naga Panchami, Varmalakshmi,  Shraavani, Sri Krishna Janmashtami and besides this is the Sampath Shukravaar and Shravan Shanivaar on all Fridays and Saturdays of this month.

BHADRAPADA MAAS ....    Swarna Gowri Vrata , Hartalika and Ganesh Chaturthi, Rishi Panchami and Anantha Chaturdashi,  Paksha Maas

ASHWIN MAAS ....   Mahalaya Amavashya, Navaratri with Saraswathi Puja, Durgashtami, Maha Navami and Vijaya Dashami

KARTHIK MAAS .... Deepavali/Naraka chaturdashi, Bali Padyami, Bhau beej, Uttana Dwadashi

MARGASHIRA MAAS ...

PUSHYA MAAS ..Vaikunta Ekadashi, Bhogi, Shankranthi

MAGHA MAAS ...Rathasaptami, MahaShivaratri

PHALGUNA MAAS ... Holi

    in graamin marathi:-chait/vaisak/jethh/aasaad/savan/bhadaa/asvin/kartik/maagsir/pous/maag/falgun.in pramaann mar.chaitra/vaishakh/jeshthha/aashaadhh/shaavann/bhaadrapadd/ashvin/kaartik/maargshirsh-maargshir-maargshiras/poush/maagh/faalgun.for ravivaar-aditvaar/aitvaar/aitaar is used in the villages.for guruvaar.bestarvaar/berestaar is used.these two words come from ADITYA=sun,and BRUHASPATI=guru=teacher of the GODS.city guys use ravivaar and guruvaar.

    few more colours.taambdaa=laal,also.paandhraa==dhhavllaa[this is exclusively used for oxen,bulls in the villages.it has come from DHAVAL[skt].kaalaa;pivllaa;tamboos==copper;neellaa=blue;hirvaa=green.aakaashee=light blue,like sky.jaambhllaa=voilet.naringee=orange.keshri/kesari=saffron.bhagvaa=saffron,shivajee`s/vaarkari`s flag colour.raakhaadi=ash,literally.raakh=ash.goraa=fair,saavllaa=semi fair,semi-dark.[shaamal in skt.hence,krushnaa is called SHYAM.gulaabee=pink,like gulaab=rose.vitanne=fade;gaddadd=fast coloue,v.thick.feeka=pale.ugra=offensive;fatfattit=this is added to paandhraa,to denote,too white.kaallaa kutt,paandhhraa feck,gaddadd neellaa,hirvaa gaar/chaar/;taambdaa laal;kaalaa kullkullitt is also used to exaggerate.gahoo varnaa is used for the brown wd be brides.gahoo==wheat.kaalaa kollsaa for black.kollsaa=charcoal.

    saavllaa=shaamal=colour of lord krushnna,semi fair/dark.bhagvaa is saffron.the colour of shivajee`s/sant`s flag.kirmijeeis dark brown.
