depict a very old man or woman
पंडू म्हातारा
Pandu Mhathara
likening a very old man to a very ripe fruit!
'पंडू म्हातारा' - interesting term! उच्चारांमध्ये थोडा-फार बदल असला तरी बरेचसे शब्द कळत आहेत. प्रत्येक प्रांतांचं भाषेचं स्वत:चं असं सौंदर्य असतं.

DeleteMy mother also remembers pandu mhataaraa. Pandu in SM means anemic. In the sense of ripe fruit, pandu is probably a loan word from Telugu, which was the 2nd official language of Thanjavur Maratha court.
