ReplyDeleteNaadi pahanaar is used in our villages.vaidya is used.vaijeenn is used for the mid-wife who helps delivery of a woman.dayee is also used for vaijeen.Pantojee/gurujee are used for teachers.Shimpee=tailor;sonaar=gold smith;kumbhaar==potter;chambhaar=shoe maker;these words are Suvarnakaar,Kumbhakaar,Charmakaar,in skt.Lohaar is lohkaar=iron smith.sutaar/sutradhaar skt.=carpenter.kaasaar is a banble maker and seller.paanchaal is a collective term for carpenter,blacksmith,copper smith,gold smith and stone smith.In skt.they are Manu,May,Twashtaa,daivadnya and shilpi.Shilpis from tamilnadu have built most of the temples of India and south east Asia for the rajas and maharajas.even today in europe/america/australia these shilpis from tamilnadu are in demand to build stone mandirs.Gumastaa is a Farsi word for a middleman-dalal-agent.Hajaam is a farsi word for a barber.our word is nhavee from skt naabhik,its navalgee in kannada.sampaki is swayam+paki.Pak is food in skt.Pak shastra =art of cooking.vakil is a Farsi word.Pikkor is not used here but in konkanni in kanaras PIVADO is used for a drunkard.Rogista is used in goa/canaras.Rogee/rogat are used here.Vyavastha is an arrangement/settelement/just disposition.Vyavasay is used here for occupation.Farsi,PESHA is also used.Dhandaa is also used.Udyog is used.Nachnaar,we use Nartak male and nartaki female.Nachy/nachi/nachki are used in a derogatory manner.Gaadivaan is used for bull cart driver.Walla ,a Farsi suffix is used for foolwalla/bhaajeevaala etc.females are foolwalli/bhaajeewalli.
