This rhyme seems to be a TMD version of the Standard Marathi rhyme that goes......


ये रे ये रे पाउसा
तुला देतो पैसा
पैसा झाला खोटा
पाउस आला मोठा

    Here, this one was teasingly said to young kids who dressed up nicely in silk पर्कोर ...

  3. I came across your blog and was very happy to read all the nursery rhymes that I grew up with! Here's one more my greatgrandmother used to sing:

    Umala lonka jhaala naav kaya thevu
    padvalichya velavar paayein kasa thevu
    nagachya phanivar diva kasa laavoon
    Umala lonka jhaala naav kaya thevu

  6. I remember my athyas and kakis singing this one-
    aga majha maayee or baayee
    dudhaacha saayay
    something something
    thoo mala avadlees!

    also do any of you know this one?
    chumnaa telanth/paneenth padla
    chumni chintaa keli
    kavla kaanadola
    and it went on about a theli who had to fix something to make chumna ok again!
    my mother couldn't remeber it either-

    the complete of that first one goes like this in our house:
    Aga majha maaye
    dudhaacha saayay
    saakrecha khada (rock sugar)
    avadatha maala
